The Lewis-Clark Valley is situated at the confluence of the Snake River and Clearwater River, and is named after the Lewis Clark encampment offering an environment rich in history. This is the western hub of the Northwest Passage Scenic Byway – All American Road and located on the Lewis Clark National Historic Trail. Lewiston shares this unique valley with neighboring Clarkston, Washington located just across the Snake River.
Situated in the “banana belt” (600’ elevation), as it is often referred to for the mild weather, Lewiston and Clarkston offers year-round golfing for those avid golfers, as well as numerous hiking trails, and is also the gateway into Hells Canyon. Premier water-skiing, jet boating, sailing, whitewater rafting, hunting, fishing, swimming, hiking and camping are limitless. Miles of paved levee pathways follow the rivers for walking, jogging and biking. Snow skiing and snowmobiling are only a short drive away.
