Palouse Region

Palouse Region

The Palouse Region greets you with rolling hills ripe with seasonal colors. This beautiful farmland is home to two universities, a private liberal arts college, along with a host of arts, theatre and recreation for every age and interest. The University of Idaho and Washington State University are renowned for their fine education and the cultural diversity they foster within the Palouse.

The surrounding hills of the Palouse produce high yields of dry peas and lentils, wheat, barley, and canola that supply an international market with quality food products. Palouse farmers produce approximately 600 million pounds of dry peas and lentils annually, a third of these crops in the  US come from The Palouse.

Communities on the Idaho side in this region are Moscow, Troy, Deary, Potlatch, Harvard, Princeton, Genesee and our Washington neighbors are Pullman, Palouse and Uniontown.
