Mackay Bar Ranch is a family owned resort located within Idaho’s Frank Church Wilderness area. Situated on the river’s edge, where waters of the Main Salmon and the South Fork of the Salmon Rivers meet, it is an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiast of every kind. Whether whitewater rafting, kayaking, fishing, hunting, hiking, or just relaxing and enjoying the natural beauty of the Salmon River Canyon, visit Mackay Bar and make use of our many services. Accessible primarily by jet boat, airplane, or raft, Mackay Bar is truly a unique getaway. So, if you are planning a trip into one of the most remote areas in the Lower 48, contact us. The ranch is open from late February to late November. Amenities include comfortable cabins, hearty meals, scenic hiking trails, relaxation, jet boat tours of the river, guided fishing and hunting, and camping in a magnificent area full of wildlife but with all the comforts of home. . Our large spacious grounds are great for playing and relaxing. We are open to the public and free camping is available on premise.

Our well stocked store is open daily with micro brews, imported, and domestic beer, soda, juice, snacks, books, t-shirts, hats, cubed ice, and our river famous milk shakes

Lodging

For a family vacation, a group retreat, or a short getaway, Mackay Bar Ranch has a small assortment of comfortable cabins and rooms, featuring cozy beds and hot showers. Stay with us and enjoy our casual fine dinning, the use of our comfortable lodge, hot tub overlooking the river, and our beautifully manicured grounds. Our maximum group accommodation is 24 people, however, if you are planning on bringing more please contact us for other arrangements.

Dinning

We prepare hearty meals served ranch style and accompanied with featured wines. Special requests or special dietary needs can be arranged with advance notice. Lodging stays include breakfast and dinner or arrangements can be made if you want to drop in for a meal and be on your way.
