Wolf Education and Research Center

Located on the outskirts of Winchester, this site encompasses twenty acres of rolling timberland with meadows and streams and is home to the Sawtooth Pack Wolves of the Nez Perce. The Center is dedicated to providing public education and scientific research concerning the gray wolf and its habitat in the Northern Rocky Mountains. Visitors may observe the pack from outside their enclosure and hike surrounding trails. Interactive and informative displays are at the Visitor Center. Call (208) 743-9554.

Our Mission:

The Wolf Center is dedicated to providing public education concerning the grey wolf and its habitat in the Northern Rocky Mountains.  Our goal is to provide the public with the rare opportunity to observe and learn about wolves in their natural habitat.  Our visitor center is increasing public awareness of wolves and related issues with programs that educate, awaken and motivate local as well as national residents, which may be the key to preserving wolves and their habitats in perpetuity.
